Go back to the Activities page	Bastrop State Park Venturing Crew 2020 2004 The Crew went to Bastrop State Park, about 2 hours from the Spring/Klein area. The purpose of this weekend hike was the initial shakedown of equipment in preparation for the Philmont trek in 2005. The weather was absolutely great and the forest area wonderful. We hiked a total of 8 miles in 2 days, practicing various techniques for assorted tasks in the backcountry.
