Adopt-a-County Mile
Venturing Crew 2020
The local
government entity of Harris County, which is Precinct 4 in our
community area, has a program called “Adopt-A-County Mile”. It is a method of using local
resources, such as Scouting units, to adopt a mile of Farm-to-Market or
secondary roads for bi-annual cleanup of litter. The county gets its roads cleaned up,
the sponsored organization gets recognition with a blue-and-white road sign,
and the Venturing Crew, in this case, involves itself in a really hands-on
activity to directly help our community and earn service hours. The Venturing Crew has adopted a
county mile for the year 2006 – 2008 along Louetta Road.
